Study Group For Men: The Tale Of The 8 Greek Gods

Statue of a Greek God

”8 Different Greek Archetypes Influence Men.

They Create A Sense Of Ease Or Difficulty When We Try To Conform To Society’s Expectations.

There Is A Cost To Living Our Deepest And Most Authentic Selves.”

Everyone living on this planet needs to live the fullest expression of themselves. As we do this we are also called to not harm one another.

The old patterns of the world are breaking down and to move forward we, as men must understand what is most important to us. Not from the “old way” our parents and partners impose, but from a way that brings us life and a feeling of inclusion.

What does that look like for me? What role do I play?

John G. Bennett, student of George Gurdjieff teaches that we all carry the archetypal stories of our shared history. How will I break down the archetypal patterns of the men who came before me, but also embrace their wisdom? Their stories live on in each of our lives and have much to teach us.

The book, The God’s in Every Man, by Jean Shinoda Bolen expands on eight Greek god’s and their lives.

Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Apollo, Hermes, Ares, Hephaestus, and Dionysus are gods that each carry a timeless story of men. Their triumphs and failures have much to teach and council us.

Over eight months we will explore the high and low sides of their stories and how we relate to each. Along the way revealing insights that can and will help us grow.

This study group will:

  • Offer new perspectives on revealing who we are and what we need as men

  • Teach about the law of three and how we battle with opposing forces in our lives

  • Be a safe space for honest sharing and exchanges

  • Share practices that help us cultivate new ways of engaging the world.

“Today’s class was awesome. It really stirred up things in me and once I was over the ‘I should have done this before’ self-criticism, I was more “I think I’m finally ready to hear this.
